APA Style
APA Style is a standard format developed by the American Psychological Association for research papers in the behavioral and social sciences. APA style evolves slowly, in particular to accommodate newer electronic media sources and computerized document production. Purdue University's Online Writing Lab describes basic paper and references page format as well as guidelines for abstracts, appendixes, endnotes, tables, and figures. It offers explanations and examples of in-text and parenthetical citations; how to use direct and indirect quotes; how to cite online sources, including authorless web articles, online journals, e-mails, listserv postings, and databases; how to cite interviews and lectures, television programs, ads, and sound recordings.
